COURSE TITLE: Chemotherapy Health & Safety for Veterinary Practice
CPD HOURS: 2 hours
AUDIENCE: Vets, nurses, support staff
OBJECTIVE: To understand the principles of safe handling and administration of cytotoxic drugs.

Exposure to chemotherapy drugs is potentially hazardous to human health. Research shows that safe handling procedures dramatically reduce the risks of adverse health effects.

Cytotoxic drug safety training is mandatory for medical and support staff in human oncology facilities. This course describes procedures for the safe handling of cytotoxic drugs in veterinary practice. It is recommended for all staff in practices where cytotoxic drugs are administered.

Course notes are provided as well as a template to assist you in creating a cytotoxic policy for your workplace and a chemotherapy safety handout for pet owners.

Questions can be emailed to the course instructor during the course.

A CPD certificate equivalent to 2 hours CPD is provided on successful completion of the course material and final quiz.
